MySpace

MySpace is a great place to campaign for new viewers. What started as Regular Joe starts a profile - has now evolved into a powerful marketing tool for mainstream entities. More and more marketing gurus are getting into the act by creating official MySpace profiles for bands, movies, and yes, TV shows they want to promote. Below are some helpful links to the Veronica Mars world on MySpace.

VM Characters Now On MySpace

Some official MySpace profiles have been created for most of the main Season 3 characters. Go friend them! The CW will most likely be using these as marketing tools - a way to gauge audience size maybe? Not sure, but so far there have been some original cast member interview vids added and some mildly spoilery Season 3 info. So that's interesting.

Wallace's profile
Logan's profile
Mac's profile
Dick's profile

There are also 2 profiles for 2 new characters, but just in case you don't like any type of spoiler - casting included - we're not going to link directly to them. You can easily find them if you want though, they're friended by Veronica and the rest of the characters. Their profile pics are all official-like promo shots, that's another clue. The CW network also has a profile:

A page dedicated to the show has been established with the goal of attracting both new and old viewers. The page has a show summary, pictures, episode cheat sheets, and links for more detailed information about VM for new viewers. For older viewers, ratings and information on how to help support the show are included.

The page is constantly updated to include more information on efforts to increase viewership, such as Save Our Show polls, petitions, and new concepts thought up by www.watchveronicamars.net (i.e. the DVD drive).

The page is also adding friends from the 3100 member VM group. Hopefully this will garner more attention if friends add the VM page to their Top 8. The page also posts bulletins announcing reminders about the show's time and airdates, as well as other important information.

Individual people can have an impact on MySpace as well. Here are some ideas for your personal page:

  1. Add www.myspace.com/veronicamarsshow as your friend, and place the show in your Top 8.
  2. Join the VM MySpace group.
  3. Post bulletins on Tuesdays to announce the show’s time and station.
  4. Leave comments on friends’ pages to tell them about the show.
  5. Place pictures from the show on your page.
  6. Write blogs about the show, or blogs asking your friends to check VM out.
